At the beginning of the year, Y5 had the opportunity to visit Woodmill Activity Centre and canoe down stream to support their topic on River Studies. Here’s what they thought:

“I learnt that canoeing upstream is really hard. I enjoyed bashing into the trees! It made it really exciting and joyful!” – Maimuna

“I learnt what an Eddy is – an Eddy is something which blocks the current.” – Omar

“I was taught how to stay safe in the water.” – Aaliyah

“I learnt how to control the canoe for the first time. I enjoyed racing with the other boats.” – Ayyan
