Team Wilder

Team Wilder is the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust's initiative to 'rewild' schools - bring as much wildlife and nature to our spaces as possible.
Each class has a Team Wilder ambassador who is responsible for bringing their enthusiasm for nature and coming up with ideas to attract our local wildlife into our school.

So far, We have created posters to educate others about protecting our planet. We have run an 'upcycling' project, where we turned people's plastic waste into wildlife-friendly nature stations: bird feeders, bird houses, hoverfly lagoons and butterfly feeders.

We entered a competition to name two recently-released beavers in Ewhurst Park in Hampshire. We won! Team Wilder members of MPJS were invited to the park to learn more about beavers and how to protect our native species. We met the Malaysian Ambassador, were interviewed for and appeared on ITV Meridian news and they even gave us our very own hazel tree to plant in our school.
